DOGPAC IS A POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE dedicated to electing dog-friendly candidates for city offices in San Francisco. It was founded in 2002 as officials whittled away at off-leash recreational opportunities in the City. Unlike local non-profit dog organizations, DogPAC can, l obby, endorse, candidates, and actively support dog-friendly candidates.

DogPAC gives careful consideration to which candidates, if any, it endorses. Before every election, DogPAC representatives:
    • Send QUESTIONNAIRES to the candidates
    • INTERVIEW the candidates in person
    • ENDORSE dog-friendly candidates
    • CONTRIBUTE time, money, and energy to endorsed campaigns
    • DISTRIBUTE the DogPAC slatecard to voters

Started in 2002, DogPAC already has had a significant impact. Beginning in its first year, almost all major candidates for Supervisor actively sought DogPAC’s endorsement, and 75% of DogPAC’s endorsed candidates have won election. DogPAC Protecting Shared Spaces for ALL of Us.

    I have a dog, and I VOTE!

IN THE MOST RECENT MAYORAL ELECTION, all of the major candidates actively sought DogPAC’s endorsement. As Mayor Gavin Newsom told the Washington Post the endorsement of a dog well, dog owners political action committee is much coveted. Despite these successes, the dog community is still being attacked. Anti-dog activists are working to destroy the off-leash and voice control practices which have worked so well in San Francisco for decades. Many of our traditional forms of recreation could disappear tomorrow, and we could all find ourselves herded into fenced pens without your help.

DogPAC is an all-volunteer organization. DogPAC needs YOU! Your dog needs YOU!

For your own health and recreation, get involved NOW! YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. In a recent article on dogs in parks, San Francisco Magazine noted, “It’s not too far-fetched to imagine the dog issue deciding the (outcome of important elections). It’s already shaped the Board of Supervisors. DogPAC needs your help. We need volunteers to work on several important committees. In addition to volunteers, we need funds. Your financial contribution will help elect dog-friendly candidates and change the political landscape of San Francisco.

DogPAC will not rest until we can exercise our dogs in the parks without fear of random and sporadic police citations. San Francisco used to be a dog-friendly city. With your help, we can make it dog-friendly once again.

SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR LEASH!
